Why Villach is the center for cycling vacations in Carinthia

Villach is the hub for cycling in Carinthia. Three of Austria’s best-known long-distance cycle paths – the Alpe Adria Cycle Path, the Drau Cycle Path and the new Meridiem Trail– all lead directly through the town on the Drau. There are also day trips to Faaker See, Ossiacher See and Wörthersee, all of which can be reached by bike in 10 to 20 minutes.

harry’s home Villach is located at Bahnhofplatz 5, right next to the main train station. If you arrive by train, for example via the Tauernschleuse on the Alpe Adria cycle path or with the Micotra cycle wagon from Italy, you can be at the door in 30 seconds. Bikes are safely stored in the hotel’s own bike cellar, and the service point has a washing machine and dryer for sweaty jerseys. And the breakfast with regional organic products makes it easy to start the next stage.
